INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Education, in collaboration with AT&T and N2N Services, launched version 1.0 of its new mobile application, INschool, today.

INschool will revolutionize the way in which the Department communicates and shares data with educators and families.  The app is free and will provide users with valuable and concise state, school and school corporation level data which will give insight into school performance.

Additionally, users of INschool version 1.0 will have easy access to education related news, links to state agencies and nonprofit organizations, an events calendar, videos, free and paid learning resources, and a Department staff directory.  Users will also receive notifications about important deadlines, learning resources, and app updates.

“Since the day I came into office, my Department has worked to improve the way we communicate with educators, administrators, and families,” said Glenda Ritz, Indiana’s Superintendent of Public Instruction.  “We have a variety of ways to communicate with educators and administrators, but we’ve always struggled to provide information and data directly to families.  Today, I’m excited to announce the launch of INschool, a free mobile app that will revolutionize the way Hoosiers access information and resources about learning in our state.”

INschool version 2.0 will be available later this year to offer additional educational resources, links to school data, education and youth programs, a calendar of important events, and a perse range of learning tools and parent engagement resources.  The enhanced version of INschool will also create a first of its kind communication channel that the Department and local school corporations may use to communicate directly with teachers and families.
